Mr. Bernard Orimbo
Bernard Orimbo is the SESEA Project Director where he is responsible for overall management of the SESEA Project Coordination Unit (PCU)including overall project development, strategic communication (external to PCU), Stakeholder relations & Coordination, overall reporting (Programmatic & Financial), and Policy dialogue & influencing. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Master’s degree in Population Studies both from the University of Nairobi. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the same institution.
Bernard has over 15 years working with communities in east, southern and west Africa, where he has successfully led interventions in health, education, child protection and advocacy. Among his most successful initiatives include leading campaigns to end child marriages in Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania. Most recently, Bernard was the Project Manager of Kwale Girls Project, a consortium targeting over 10,000 girls in 72 public primary schools in Kwale County. Other organizations her has worked for include The International Rescue Committee (Sierra Leone), The Graca Machel Trust (South Africa), World Vison International (Kenya) and Save the Children International (Kenya).
